WinXP and Pause/Freeze Screen

I am haveing a problem after downloading Live Updates for Norton AntiVirus
and Firewall. After the download I do a complete system Scan (with Norton)
and then I close down my computer. However, I notice just before the machine
closes down completely (black screen/OFF) I get a little message about
something about a runtime error (??) with Symantec. It is is so quick that I
cannot read it quickly. I contacted Symantec (which routes me to India) and
they said I need to send them a screen copy of the error message - which I
cannot do because the message is on the screen for just a very, very short
time. (The help from India is useless.)
I remember in MS DOS you could 'freeze'/pause' the screen in order to read
the screen. However, when I press "Pause" now, the screen does not
freeze/pause. Does anyone have definitive answer on how I can 'freeze/pause'
the screen (just before it goes black) so I can write down the message which
is in that little pop-up box's message?
Someone said to go to Norton and look at the Activity Log, but that does not
show anything. I would appreciate any help so that I can get rid of this
annoying message once and for all.
Thanks for any help.

1. White space needed in your post.
2. If it causes no harm, leave it be.
3. Check the Norton forums. Am betting you are not the only one.
4. Good luck!

Thank you. What does your #1 mean please (White space needed in
your

I'm not Kelly, but I can tell you what she means. It's very
difficult to read a long message when it's all in a single
paragraph.

Thank you.
#1- Since my question about "pausing/freezing" the screen at shut-down when
the short message pops-up was not answered, may I presume there is no way to
"pause/freeze" screen (just before complete shut-down) so I can copy down the
message in that little pop-up box?
#2- I looked all over the Symantec site for FORUM, but cannot find one. When
you said to check the Norton Forums, did you know that one exists? (I know
this is outside MS questions, but just thought you might have answer.)
Thanks for any help.
