Well, I had the pleasure this weekend of getting a copy of Windows XP 64 bit
and giving it a run. For those of you who do not know, MS has taken WinXP
Pro to the next level releasing Windows XP 64 bit last week. In this
article, I'm going to take a first look at what it brings to the table and
what you can expect to see once you get your hands on a copy. .....

Sounds promising, but I think I'll wait a year or so for the driver
and software support to catch up.

I didn't get into win2k until service pack 3.

That pretty well mirrors my experience, my goal is to run XP 64 as often as
I can. So far no luck with my Canon Scanner which I use often.

Kinda brings back memories of going from Win 3.1 to 95. What I'm really
waiting for is the 64 bit version of Far Cry if it every materializes.

I didn't see anything about 64 bit. The AMD site seems to say it is yet to

Somewhere on the microsoftsite. They showed the difference for player by two
games with 64Bit support. The First was ShadowOps: Red Mercury, the second
was FarCry. Also I´ve read about that fact in some german forums. Could not
verify myself, cause x64 has a big problem with my SATAController (VIA
VT8237 Southbridge).
