After installing the 823980 patch, my computer generates
an error of "WinStart has performed an illegal operation
and needs to close" when the computer boots up. There
appears to be no real harm from this message, as the
computer does not shut down, and all programs appear to
be fine. Just wondering if anyone has an idea on how to
stop this message from appearing. Thanks.

WinStart is not a Windows program and this has nothing to do with
patches. According to Google (Google Is Your Friend(tm)), it is a
component of a spyware program. Clean up your computer with Spybot
Search & Destroy and/or Ad-aware.
