Winsock and LSP

Why does microsoft limit the ablity of the user to not remove LSP?

What is the point of just viewing them and not being able to remove them.?

I hate having to reset my entire winsock catalog (netsh winsock reset all)
to just remove a couple of macillous entries.

I know it just a little annoying because broken LSP do not always happen by
spyware. Sometimes users willl delete programs and files without
using the unistaller and legitamite programs such as google desktop and
others can
cause LSP Breakage.

Also if it "but saving" is the reason why, maybe a warning message in
product could be displayed before the action could take place (ex. unsigned
drivers)?

Another good idea--don't know what the technical limitations are--clearly
the definitions have to be extensible while the major code to do the removal
work is relatively fixed. I do know that they want to eliminate this pain
point as much as possible--we'll see how beta2 does.
