winpe question

i did create winpe cdrom which is working just fine and i boot the system
with winpe cdrom and get to the prompt.

at the prompt i tried to run rstrui.exe from my old drive location
c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
nothing executes nor does anything.............i can access any directories
on my c:\ drive but couldn't execute the command.

is there a work around only booting from winpe cdrom. i'm trying to create
winpe cdrom as my handy.....cdrom.

you need to be inside xp booting off the hard disk to do a repair use this
artical 820724 How to manually restore registry hives from "System Volume
Information" i think you will get the result you are looking for
