WinPE on Win XP Eval

Hello,

I'm evaluting Win XP SP1 and from reading some onlint
documentation, I should be able to use the first disk to
boot into WinPE.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?
url=/library/en-
us/xpehelp/html/xetbsstep7deploywindowsxpembeddedrun-
timeimage.asp

However, when I try to boot up I get "Couldn't find NTLDR"
or "Missing NTLDR". I looked on the CD and sure enough
NTLDR is not on it. Is WinPE included with the eval
version WinXP Sp1.

WinPE is included on the eval version of XPE. However, because WinPE is
written in a low-level filesystem, you
will not be able to browse the WinPE files in Explorer. The only files you
will be able to see are the Win XPE files.

Does your device support bootable CD-ROMs? Did you set your BIOS to boot
from CD? Did you try booting the CD-Rom on another system?

The BIOS is set to boot A:, CD-ROM, C:. I even switched it
to CD-ROM,A:, C:. But still got the same results.

However, I did as you said and tried it on a different
machine and it worked. I guess this means WinPE doesn't
work on all x86 motherboards?

Thanks for you help.
