Winodws XP some functions won't work

Terry Riley

I installed Windows XP Home Edition over Window Me about a week ago. I
had very little hardware problems until recently. I had to reinstall
some of my Software EasyCD Creator 5.0 (with upgrade to 5.3+) and my
Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. Most everything thing else worked. I did a
burn of a Data disk and my EasyCD Creator came up after start up. I
removed and reinstalled several times, but now I get an Exception Error.

Also I lost my Internet Explorer and OutLook Express Icons from the
desktop. Then I couldn't change the Internet Options, but I found a page
that gave me some help.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled EasyCD Creator and now have a Adaptec
(2) directory in my Program files. I deleted those and now my CD (RW and
CD) drive will not read the dirve unless I use the open function of
Windows Explorer. Also my Search will not funciton.

Only some of my sounds work, the Windows Start and Exit will not
function, but my Mail and others work fine...

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Terry

That was a mistake. You'd have been better off reformatting the HD and
doing a clean install.

Then downloading Windows critical updates. Then installing the current
video drivers, sound card drivers, etc.

Then make sure all the drivers and apps you are made for XP.
