[WinMsg 4.7] Can receive files but can't send them

A contact sent me a picture, and I was able to receive it. When I tried
sending him a picture, the transfer failed. Any idea why and how I can
fix it? I tried sending another picture of different format, and that
failed also. He accepted the transfer and the transfer started and then
failed.

Would upgrading to WinMsg 5.1 fix this problem, or is there something
else that needs to be done?

For me, upgrading to Windows Messenger 5.1 did not solve it, but
installing MSN Messenger 7.5 did. But in some cases it still may not
work if your Firewall is blocking Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger.
Enable Internet Access Rights and Server Rights in your firewall. I
don't have Email Rights enabled, but I don't have it disabled either.
It's set to Prompt. Also, if you are using UnPlug n' Pray to disable
UPnP (Universal Plug&Play), you may need to enable UPnP temporarily to
send files via Messenger.
