Fred

I downloaded Windows Media Player 10 and followed the
installation process but at the end receive the
message "unable to complete installation, try again". I
have retried 6 times and same result every time. Any
ideas ? Thanks for your expertise !

What version of Windows are you trying to install it on? Are you sure the
file you downloaded is not corrupt?

Have you tried installing in safe mode?

Bobby, Not yet in safe mode. Please confirm the correct
way to get to "safe mode". Do you mean to download in safe
mode or after the download to then install in safe mode?
I did go to Windows Media Player 10 after "installing" and
it kept freezing. I restored to an earlier point and now
back to WMP9. Thanks for your help.

Start Windows in Safe mode (reboot and repeatedly press the F8 key).

Once Windows has started in Safe mode, try installing again.
