winlogon.exe error

When I try to install sp2 and sp4 after they archive my
files I get the error"winlogon.exe has created errors and
will be shut down" I cannot install the patch for
W32.blaster worm without sp2 installed. how do I get
around this? Thanks for any help you can give me

Did you already try to install SP2 or SP4 in Safe Mode?

Yes, I have tried it in safe mode and normally. Same
results either way. After it archives apps.com I get the
error message and it automatically shuts down and reboots.

Hi Richard

.. Have you checked the running processes? Is there anything like
'msblaster.exe' or 'teekids.exe'?


- Download as well 'Startup CPL' from here:

http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml (Freeware!)

and see if there are any suspicous Programs started during Startup.
