My daughter's Home XP was infected with msg121.dll adware problem. It
looks like this .dll is hooked into WinLogon.exe. If you attempt to
kill the process (so that you can del the file), you will get blue
screen.

Unfortunatley, the file system is NTFS so I don't think a DOS boot
will help me to remove the .dll.

Short of reinstalling XP, is there anyway to remove the .dll?

Thanks

Doug

Try booting up into Safe Mode of XP, so you can do the cleanups / removals.
Press F8 Function key (& keep retapping) while pc is booting up, so you can select Safe Mode.
