Winfixer

Recently, we've been receiving a popup that says to start the installation of
"winfixer" click ok or some such. How can I get rid of this, and prevent it
from coming up again?

Sounds like Messenger Service spam.

Turn on a Firewall.

We already have a firewall turned on. Any other suggestions? We don't want
this kind of stuff on our system, and can't figure out how it's getting
through. Is there a registry setting we can turn off?

See if you have cdisk.dll in the
C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\ folder.
