Winfile from win9x will NOT work on XP

however it turns out that the version from NT4 will work...

and it also has long file name support
 
The program WINFILE.EXE is known as the Windows File Manager, which was
first introduced in Microsoft Windows 3.0. Windows Explorer replaced this
program in Windows 2000, but the Windows NT version of File Manager should
still work on Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional. You may
download the File Manager at
