WinFax Causes Outlook Hang, But Not Installed

Outlook 2003 regularly hangs.
Microsoft comes back and tells me that...
"Download updates for Symantec WinFax Pro
This problem was caused by Symantec WinFax Pro. Symantec WinFax Pro was
created by Symantec Corporation."
However, I do not have any Symantec WinFax components installed.
I have tried several times to uninstall this non-existant application or any
of it's components following uninstall instructions on Symantec.com.
Please help me remove this error from Outlook 2003.

did you upgrade over an older version of outlook? Do you have any error
messages? (look in the event viewer). Did you make a new profile? Try detect
and repair?
 
Thanks Diane, for your advice. I did not install any new version of Outlook
2003, but I did add a new profile. What should I do? What is "detect and
repair"?
 
Within OL, Help>Detect & Repair
You will need your Office/OL cd
Having said that this is a problem that a number of users have experienced,
even though no Symantec products are installed, to date no fix has been
posted, MS is apparently looking into the problem.
