WinExplorer does not remember folder view settings ? Quantity MFT problem ?

A time ago I setup a folder according to my preferences (e.g. "Details view")
and clicked then

Tools->Folder View->View->Apply to all Folders

From previous WinXP systems I know that now all Folder should be displayed now as the current.

Much to my surprise this is not the case.

From time to time I open an existing folder and..... get an "Thumbnails view".

Why are soemtimes (but not always) these exceptions?

As far as I heard this can be a problem because of too many folders in comparison to
the MFT size.

Is this true ? How can I change the amount of space which is defined for directories?

I have currently 280000 Files on a 160 GB NTFS formatted hard disc partition

Download TweakUI, one of the MS powertoys, from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

There is a setting in the Registry enabling Windows Explorer to remember
XXX Folder views. When you exceed the number the Views created first
are dropped off the list to enable new ones to be added. TweakUi
provides an easy way to increase the limit (or decrease the limit to
conserve memory) if you so wish. In TweakUi select Explorer,
Customisation.

Hope this helps.
