winexit error

When a limited account user uses the screen saver winexit I get the following
error dialogue window: "Error encountered while creating registry key. MAke
sure you have Set Value and Create Subkey PErmissions." Once the dialogue
box is closed it works.

What can I do stop this from happening?

It sounds like something is running in the background that wants to
write to the registry before it exits and can't because it needs
elevated permissions to write to required registry keys. Do shutdown
troubleshooting, as well as clean-boot troubleshooting to determine
what is running in the background.

Hal,

The Winexit.scr does not run correctly under Limited accounts by default.
However, by altering the Permissions for a registry key, you can resolve the
problem.

Note that this KB was written for Windows NT, but very much applies to
Windows XP as well.
