Windwos Installer

Please help! Whenever i try to install something that uses
the windows installer, i get an error message. I have
tried to enable it through the registry, but i get the same
error. I am running windows XP . Is there anywhere i can
download these files? I cant find them on the windows xp disk.

What error message? Why are you playing in the registry?
Download what files? Shot in the dark as no real
information is present-Try Windows update first then run a
search in Microsoft Knowledge Base.
