WinDVD flickers after upgrading media player to 9

Leonard

I have a DELL notebook(Inspiron 4100) running Windows XP Home. I use WinDVD
3 bundled with this machine to enjoy DVDs. Both WinDVD 3 and Media Player 8
is OK but I prefer the former.
Yesterday I upgraded MP8 to 9 Series to access MSN Video, then the nightmare
begins, there are unbearable flickers in WinDVD, MP9 however, remains OK.
So what is the problem, some help please!

WinDVD is up to version 5. It is quite possible that WinDVD 3 is not
totally compatible with WMP9. You can try to uninstall it, the reinstall it
to see if that clears up anything, also check with Dell & Intervideo to see
if you have the latest version of WinDVD 3, and I'd also make sure I use
Spybot & Adaware to make sure the MS's DVD spyware is removed.

If none of that helps, you may have to buy a new version of a DVD player.
Nero 6 comes with a pretty good one, plus a lot of video editing/converting
functions, on top of all it's CD/DVD burning software. I actually use Nero
more for it's video capabilities than I do as a CD/DVD burner.
