Windows Media Series 9

1. I don't know much about computers. I enjoy my media
player as it is except I don't know how to make a song in
the library into a wav.file instead of an audio file.
There is a test wav.file in my music file but I don't
know how it was made???? Any way someone can tell me how
it was done?
2. When trying to download the upgrade to Media 10, it
doesn't take 56 minutes and when it is complete I get an
unknown error happened but won't tell me how to correct
it and in the media 10 the bottom part where my playlists
were in Media 9 series are either doubled or shows as
many times as I download the program. Each time their is
one more playlists of each of my playlists but nothing in
any of them. I restore my media back to the 9 series but
I can't download 10--same error each time. Reason for
downloading the 10 is maybe I can make wav.files which
right now I don't find any help in doing that. I want to
have a wav.file to be able to add music to a disk of
slides I am making in the HP Photo Memory disk program.
3. I also can't make shortcuts by clicking the right of
my mouse and clicking on shortcuts. All it does is make
the program again with a (2)or (3) after it. I can drag
the program icon to desktop and make the shortcut that
way. Is there a problem in this area and if so what can I
do to correct it.
My computer was made by a company which has since gone
out of business. I think Best Buy will look at the
computer but I need to know what I want them to look at?

The programme with (2) or (3) IS the shortcut. Drag is to wherever you want and rename it to whatever you like.

What is the song, a .WMA file? Why do you want to convert it to a
format that takes up more space on your computer? [At least according to
my manual from Gateway, that's the case. It has instructions for
changing MP3s to WAV files if necessary or desirable, but not WMAs. But
this manual was prepared for MusicMatch use.]

What does your HP program say about adding music? Shouldn't it have
instructions on how to do that? I'd forget about WMP 10, and go to
HP'S web site looking for a forum about how to do this. Or try Google
and see what pops up. :)

Not a problem, and I think someone has already answered, how you can
re-name the shortcut and delete the numbers if you wish.

out of business. I think Best Buy will look at the

I wouldn't pay for service until I had looked further online for some
assistance in making your HP program do what you want. Others using it
should be able to tell you how to use a media player [if necessary] to
handle the music you want.
