Help--I cannot open my Quickbooks 2005. i
get an error saying windows cannot open it.
 
Your question is not related to Windows XP or the network_web subgroup you
posted to. You need to visit Intuit's support site and review their
solutions.

If all the other programs work correctly, contact Intuit tech support or
look for Quickbooks user forums.
