windows firewall and .cab files

Hi,
I am trying to open an exception in windows firewall for an executable
that quickbooks needs to run. The only problem is that the exe file is
located in a .cab file. How to i allow permissions for an exe file that is
located in a cab file? thank you for any help you can give.

The executable needs to be extracted from the CAB file. Is this CAB file part of the QB installation? I should think that the QB installer would have extracted anything it needed, not left it in a CAB file, especially not program files. You sure you have it set up right? Have you asked Intuit support for help?

when i search for the exe file it only shows up in the cab file. that is what
leads me to believe that that is the only place it exists. I have not
contacted intuit but i will try
thank you for your help,

That leads me to believe that the installation wasn't successful, but we're being too general here for me to decently comment further. I have QB 2007 installed, but I've not used it much. So far it seems to behave. Still, Intuit support is the place to go.
