As I said, I don't know how long it takes, but I *do* know that it is
significantly longer than 45 seconds. I don't know when the next time
I will boot will be, by I'll try to remember to time it.

I just had to boot after an installation. I forgot and started timing
it too late, but it was something over five minutes. I wasn't
surprised at its being that long, because as I said, I load a lot of
stuff automatically when Windows starts.

Once again, that's because *I* want to. My point, once again, is that
we are all different, load differing amounts of things, and a
statement like yours, about a "max," is therefore wrong.

You may not agree, but your statement that "A good system is about 45
seconds max" is not at all correct.

Why did you respond? Cause you like to troll?

I like to see if you'll admit when you're wrong.

You won't.

You forgot to ask me who I'm trying to impress.

I admit when I'm wrong. If in your eyes I'm wrong that's your assumption.
Give me facts or prove I'm wrong
instead of your assumptions.
And, WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPRESS? That what you want?

By the way, did you time your boot-up?

I'm retired and have a lot of time on my hands, but I'm not interested
in learning how quickly Windows loads and is fully ready for use on my
system. I assure you it is more than 45 seconds. It might get to the
desktop in that time, but not everything - not even my mouse software
- is loaded at that time.

And it's a good, rock-solid system.

I think I'll just kill file your argumentative ass. You've begun to
bore me.

Good

Yep, you act very bored with your responses.

What's a kill file? ("....I'll just kill file your argumentative....")

I too have seen this referred to. Don't know if it is a specific
third-party programme.

Can only assume it is a message rule set up to block a particular
sender. Then again, that would make "Block Sender" a kill file in
itself.

Killfile only dis-allows YOU from seeing the "other guy" (the one you
"killfile-ed)
So YOU miss out. :-) You continue to live an illusion until you see
others replying to the killfile-ed guy.......who posts as normal but
only YOU just can't read what he posts.

Used properly, it is more like the squelch button on a CB radio.
