WindowsXP Profession Won't Boot

I have an XP Pro box that will not boot past the welcome screen. I also
access this machine using Remote Desktop connection, and can connect, but
the only thing I can see is the computer's wallpaper and nothing more. I
cannot access any parts of the computer. Tried booting the machine in Safe
Mode with the same problem. Any suggestions? Any way to resolve this
problem remotely (using remote desktop connection)?

I had a similar problem but once i entered in my password the screen went
blank. This only occured after i installed new graphics drivers but i didnt
have the problem. Have you installed new graphics drivers or do you remember
that last piece of software you installed?
