Hi, I am having an issue when I log in it pauses at the login screen for a
good 2-3 minutes. Once it does log in it hangs for an additional 3-5 minutes
before popping up a window saying there is an error with drwatson. Then I am
unable to do anything at all. I press ctrl+alt+delete to bring up the task
manager and end process drwatson. As soon as I do this all my desktop icons
dissappear as well as my task bar and start menu. I have a basic knowledge
of windows systems and I have been able to access my desktop and certain
areas of my computer using iexplore.exe. I have concidered re-installing
windowsXP but I am unable to start many applications to back up very
important documents and information. Is there any way I can get around this?
I have used the search on the newsgroups about drwatson and the other
problems listed above and I have been unable to find a solution to my
problem. Thank you in advance.

On next Startup Tap F8 repeatedly. You should get a Menu. Choose Safe
Mode. From there you may be able to access
those important documents and info. Also while in Safe Mode see if you
can get to System Restore.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

Thanks for the help, I couldn't get system restore to work before but this
worked. Its now asking if I want to install system updates and I am kind of
afraid to do it since I can now access my toolbar hehe. Thanks again, you
were a great help. :)
