Greetings!
I use a wireless gateway to connect a WindowsXP machine and a Windows98
laptop to the internet. Of course I have a home network behind the gateway.
The WindowsXP to the gateway is a wired connection, the Windows98 to the
gateway is a wireless connection.
The interesting things are:
1. The copy-and-paste in the Windows Explorer does not allow me to copy a
100M bytes file from one machine to the other. I have to setup ftp server
and use ftp to transfer file
2. I am using 802.11b wireless, coping a 100M file between the 2 windows
machines (no other application running, no internet traffic) takes longer
than downloading a 120M file from the internet. But with the same ftp client
application, the speed meter shows 30kbytes per second when transfer file
between windows machines; and 12kbytes per second when downloading file from
the internet.
Any advices?
