Windowsxp DNS issues

I'm stumped I have a windows xp home computer with sp1, and I can dial in
to an isp fine. I can ping ip addresses fine, but I can ping any dns
addresses (i.e. www.yahoo.com). No firewall is being used.
any ideas. TIA.

What sites have you tried? The reason I ask is that most large Internet
sites have turned off ICMP traffic so that they will not return pings. (and
prevents ping attacks)
