WindowsXP Built in CD burning software

My computer was attacked by a Virus and I had to
reinstall everything onto my system- I have the Windows
XP Home Upgrade package. The problem I have is that
although my CD Burner DOES work with conventional
software, the WindowsXP CD burning software no longer
exists somehow (built into Windows as it once was).
Also, though it is set to do so, my computer is not
autoplaying any discs, but it will read discs after
double clicking the drive icon. Please help!

Some MSoft people have written an unofficial AutoFix program to fix
various troubles with AutoPlay - I suggest that. It can be found, among
other places at Mike Kolditz's
