Maybe this is a sign of the future of Microsoft newsgroups, in that
eventually they'll all be web based forums? We know that in the past
Microsoft has tried to "enhance" nntp newsgroups with their Microsoft
Communities, and were probably met with great resistance to the change.
So it wouldn't surprise me that they've decided to convert all the
newsgroups to web based forums over time where they can do exactly what
they desire without any repercussions.

XP didn't have a group until it was released and neither did Vista.
