I have one 2 Desk top PC and a notebook. I have venison DSL as my ISP. I have a Netgear Router connoted to the DSL modem. From all the three machines I am able to brows the internet and all that is fine. The problem is I am not able to see none of the other machine from my Laptop. Under the my network places property I have Microsoft Networks client, file and printer sharing for Microsoft network, NetbeuI protocol, Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).When I click on My network Place/Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network\MSHOME(workgroup) I am supposed to see the other two machines. but once I click on the MSHOME I can see the hour glass for some times and then I get a message “ Mshome is not accessible. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently availableâ€

How can I set this Lap top, to see my two other machines? Both the other machines are running Windows2000

make sure you have all workgroups set to the same thing eg: "workgroup", and
you have at least one directory / folder shared in each pc you want to
browse, otherwise nothing. Also you must be logged onto each machine using
user; password that is acceptible to the others.

My guess is that your laptop is running Windows XP. XP is much more
difficult to get to cooperate in a network environment than is Windows 2000.

Let's try the most simple solution first. Change the workgroup on your
laptop from "MSHOME" to "Workgroup". Reboot the laptop and see if it isn't a
happy member of the network.

Also, make sure that the XP firewall is disabled on the laptop. Another tip
is to disable "Simple File Sharing" on the XP machine.

Good luck.

"Also you must be logged onto each machine using [username; password] that
is acceptible to the others." To make this simple, logon to all with the
same [username, password]. To set this up go to
start/programs/administrative tools/computer management/local users and
groups/users and make sure that your username is acceptible in each other pc
on your lan.
