"Where can I find info about witch edition of Windows2000 is installet(standard, enterprise, terminal)."

Windows 2000 comes in three versions and only three versions. There are Gold versions but these are specific to certain customers of Microsoft. There are debug versions but again these are specific to developers.

The three versions are:

1) Windows 2000 Professional: The splash screen at boot witll say, "Windows 2000 Professional"

2) Windows 2000 Server: The splash screen at boot will say, "Windows 2000 Server"

3) Windows 2000 Advance Server: The splash screen at boot will say, "Windows 2000 Advance Server"

So when you boot what does the spash screen say?

Well since the server is in a production enviorment I
can't reboot the server to find out. I like to find
something like this link but for Windows2000 instead of NT.

Thanks! I have tried winver, I ran it on a Windows2000
server and on a Win2000professional box. But on both boxes
I got the same result! And there was no info saying
either "proffesional" "standar" or advanced
regards

Hmmm that is interesting. You're right. Well you have either Windows 2000 Server or Advanced Server if it is a server in a production environment obviously.

So we need to determine if it is advanced or not.

Yeah. Go to Right-click My Computer | Manage | System Information | System Summary | OS Name ought to do it.

Thanks for your help! It only says Windows 2000 Server but
I quess that means Standard edition. I'm not really a W2K
server expert but should it really be this complicated to
find out witch edition you have installed?

You have found out. Look at my first reply to you. There are three versions. You have the one I told you was #2.
