I have a 160g hard drive partitioned to c and d. Windows
98 is installed on c and d has video files, mpgs and some
program files installed as well. Can I safely install
windows xp on the d drive without losing any data? I want
to dual boot with xp to see if Studio 8 will run without
all of the problems I have encountered running it with Win
98.

No, you'll need to backup or record your D: drive files to a CD first.
Installing Windows XP on your D: drive will require a reformat of
the D: drive during setup.
