windows xp

[christine bowling]

hi can anybody help! my freinds computer was working fine this morning and
she shut it down with no problems later on she switch it on again and all it
keeps doing is going to the desktop and then shuts down again and it just
keep repeating this all the time.
you cant even get the computer to stay on the desktop it just shuts down so
we cant even check anything on it
she is using windows xp home adition .
we even tryed to reboot it-it whould,nt even do that.
also there is a light flashing on her dics drive which never did it beforew
not sure if this helps .

Christine,
You might want to try booting into safe mode to look for the culprit in
her Startup Menu or in her registry. Additionally, you would probably
be better off in the microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support
newsgroup at
