On my home computer I have Windows XP and Windows ME. I just upgraded
ME to Windows 2000. Now I can't get into my XP. When I try to get
into it, it gives me a 2000 start-up screen and then automatically
reboots to the main start-up screen. I tried to get into it by going
through 2000 and clicking D Drive and my own user in XP, but it won't
let me in.

i presume you had win me on your boot drive (cdrive). And 2k overwrote the
boot menu and excluded your winxp. Don't remember win2k, but you might be
able to fix the bootmenu file (boot.ini). Go to start, run and type msconfig
-Then find a tab regarding boot and see if you have the option to check
all boot paths. Hope this works.

However, it may be simplier by reinstall winxp, it will fix your boot paths
and create your dual boot menu.... When installing the winxp cd, select new
install, point to the winxp on your harddrive from the list, then select
repair. .....

I can only presume again, that there is uncompatiable software in your
previous win me that is incompatiable with win xp, so you installed a
secondary o.s. And then installed win2k over the me. This sounds like you
are getting into a really messy situation. And you will be making a lot of
postings herein for help..........

It sounds like you tried to install two operating systems onto the same
partition but when you do that, only one will run. There are things you
must do to have two functional operatins sytems. These links might help:
