Hi everyone:

I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of to find what could be causing
this and how to fix this but DESPITE having gone back to the Windows XP
default settings, I **CANNOT** seem to get EITHER of my browsers to show
the colors of the pages I visit on the web.

I dunno what I did, but I can NO LONGER see backgrounds. Here's a list
of the browsers I have and their builds...

* Mozilla Firefox - Version 3.0.1 (My default browser)
* Internet Explorer - Version 7.0.5730.1315 (Additional info. available
on request)
* Mozilla SeaMonkey - Version 1.1 Build 11
* Netscape Navigator - Version 9.0.0.6
* Opera - Version 9.26 Build 8835
* Apple Safari - Version 3.1.2 Build 525.21
* Google Chrome - Version 0.2.149.29 Build 1798

In addition, I have the old MSN Explorer AS WELL AS Windows Live, three
IE clones (Avant, Free Source & ProgrammableTabBrowser) & one Firefox
clone (Flock).

NOT ALL THESE BROWSERS ARE RUNNING AT ONCE!!! Though when I can't get a
page to open without crashing with one browser, I'll often try one of
the others (Except of course Apple Safari & Google Chrome since they're
not stable releases as of yet) as more often than not, this typically
does the trick.

The rest of my specs. are as follows....

* AMD Duron 1 Ghz. CPU
* 512 MB RAM
* ATI RADEON 9250 3D Graphics Card (32 bit color quality, 1280 x 1024
screen resolution)

I don't have any problem with my desktop background environment (Just
that on web pages).

In each of the browsers, I have them set to show system colors, yet they
STILL don't respond. IE still has the black background I gave it
earlier this year when I switched to the dark environment, but I
switched back when I realized how difficult it was to use IE with that
environment (Thank you Microsoft for NOT realizing the need to
AUTOMATICALLY make color changes to such things as HYPERTEXT LINKS and
DIALOG BOXES for each theme! :( *Grrrr!* I would've figured EVEN YOU
would figure out this need BY NOW, but I guess I was wrong).

Anyhow, I'll be happy to post screenshots if needed as I sure would LOVE
to get this problem resolved.

UPDATE: Opera works fine, but all the others I mentioned which (Except
Safari & Chrome as they are still in Beta) still don't.

BTW...FWIW, I also have the SHOUTcast-specific IE-based bowser called
Songbird too (Though I never use it).

I tried downloading the newest verson of Flock, which is Firefox-based,
but all it does is behave like Firefox.

IE looks OK except for one thing - It has a BLACK background. On some
sites, you can't even see the dialog box. In fact, I have to "feel
around" with the mouse pointer like a blind man with his walking stick
to find the SUBMIT button (And EVEN THEN that assumes IT IS EVEN
CLICKABLE with IE using a black background).

Yes, I've TRIED changing the settings in each browser to use web page
colors, but it STILL does no good. Anything else I might try?

On top of everything else, I can't get the navigation bar to appear in
SeaMonkey to enter a URL. I have to go to FILE > OPEN URL to do that.

Either way, I'd really like to get back to using Firefox as my default
browser. But right now, that's just not possible as it's on the
proverbial injured reserve list and I as the coach am forced to stick
Opera 9.52 Build 10108 (Which I just downloded just a few minutes ago)
into the game as my quarterback.
