There is a rumor going around at work that MS will stop support of WinXP Oct
2007?

Can anyone confirm?

A link to announcement if it exists?

Can confirm that it's a rumour, yes. Is it factual? No.

It's a rumor.
WinXP SP3 is tentatively scheduled for release in the first half of 2008.

Look for lifecycle policies on the MS web site. XP will be supported for a
few more years.
