Windows XP Viseo Style Engine doesn't work anymore...

Hello,
I work with Windows XP Pro, SP 2 currently.
Some time ago I had some kidn of nasty virus which really wrecked my machine
a lot. But i was able to handle it by killing some *.exe and some registry
data.
But after the Cleaning I suddenly realised that i wasnt able to use the XP
Styles for my desktop anymore.
Means my desktop has the windows classic themes, but none of the silver,
blue, green new styles. I neither can use progs like style xp and so on.

Cause I dont realy have the time and effort to reinstall everything again
and cause I don't have any backups before that date I am kida lost how to
regain the windows xp style or better this "visual style engine".
Cann you help me or name me the file oder folder I need?

Your theme file may be corrupted. You could try installing the utheme patch
to allow for theme files - its the same sort of thing that style xp uses.

Use this patch at your own risk though.

Style XP is really famous for DESTROYING Windows XP completely just one
boot after installation! I had to pay a LOT to back up all my important
files and then i installed Windows XP again -_-
I do NOT recommend that program to style up your computer.
The best way to have kick ass desktops with a GREAT GUI and stuff, GET
LINUX + You won't get problems like that in Linux
(I really shouldn't talk about Linux here in MICROSOFT group, haha )
