Windows XP upgrade Student Registration

I bought the
- MS Win XP Pro SF UPG Student -
yesterday and I am a bit hesitant in installing it.
I understand that I have to prove my "studenthood" somehow before the
windows XP will work. So my question is this, if I now (saturday) install the
software atop my windows2000 pro will my computer become useless until I have
registered my studenthood somehow. I did not find any comment from the
documents inside the box apart from the normal installation instructions. I
would like to use my computer this weekend since my university is pretty much
closed until monday.

Best regards,

You would have to prove that you are a student at the time of purchase, if
they even check.

Once you have it just install it. Use the install key provided with the
purchase.
