We have several PCs running XP PRO and using ICS.
We also have a stingy Telco that limits our DSL traffic to a monthly max.
Is there any way (apart from waiting for SP releases) to download all
updates to just one machine and then distribute them to the others via the
peer to peer N/W or even by copying/installing on a CD and then going around
to each machine in turn?

TIA

Certainly is, in Windows Update go to Customise Windows Update and click on
"Show Windows Update Catalog". You can then go to Windows Update Catalog,
select your OS and download all the patches for installation at a later
date.

Yes! you can. To save the patches and upgrades locally, you must use the
corporate Windows Update Catalog, which lets you store fixes locally for
subsequent installation. To access this catalog, perform the following
steps:

Go to the general Windows Update Web site.
Under Other Options, select Personalize Windows Update.
Select the "Display the link to the Windows Update Catalog under See Also"
option.
Click Save Settings.
Under See Also, you will now have Windows Update Catalog.

You can also access the corporate Windows Update Catalog directly at this
Microsoft Web site. After you access the catalog, you can add several fixes
to your "basket" that Windows Update will download to your machine.
