Windows XP Updates

All Windows XP Updates since September 15, (except Media
Player 9), have failed to install many times. No error
messages. Viewing update installation history confirms
failures. No problem before this and Windows XP seems to
be working great. (I'm luckier than most who post
problems here). That is about when I installed
Microsoft .NET framework? I realize this is a very broad
area to cover.
