i connected my notebook (XP) to a desktop (server) running Windows 2000. The first time around i got the network to run, although with a lot of difficulty..i ran windows update, after which the connection snapped..and haven't been able to get it back on the network since...then i uninstalled the hotfixes, and it is back on track...
i suspect it to be some kind of security update or something...

does anyone know about the problems associated with this type of networking (2000 server - XP client)..and what updates cause this problem?

thanks

I am having the same problems with XP on server/host computer and 2000 on guest. Each day when turn on computer, connection is lost and I need to log on as Administrator to reconnect network. Then reload printer which is connected to guest computer

Have not been able to solve.
