Windows XP Taskbar settings via registry/gpo?

S

S.Aarnio

Hi!

I'm trying set the Windows Taskbar property "Keep the taskbar on top
of other windows" to false via registry or gpo. I need to change this
setting to a number of computers/users.

The setting is not in the registry, not as such anyways (did regmon
during the change of the setting and at least it did not write
anything to . HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software
\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.

Browsing through the gpo settings did not help eather.

Can anyone give a hint how to do this?

A lot of Taskbar and Start menu settings are here. Data does not get
written to the registry until you shutdown or log off.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Explorer\StuckRects2
Value Name: Settings
Value Type: REG_BINARY
Value Data: (Mine)
hex:28,00,00,00,ff,ff,ff,ff,02,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,6b,00,00,00,1e,\
00,00,00,fe,ff,ff,ff,e4,02,00,00,02,04,00,00,02,03,00,00

SINGLE OPTIONS:

I have no idea what combination of what does what. You can spend your time
experimenting.
