WINDOWS XP STARTUP PROBLEM

HI GUYS ..I NEED HELP

WHEN I TRY TO START MY WINDOWS XP PRO I GET A BLINKING SCREEN AND THE
ONLY PROGRAM WHICH I AM ABLE TO START IS TASK MANAGER ....MY TASKBAR IS
NOT VISIBLE .....IT IS TRANGE THAT PROBLEM DISAPPEARS AFTER 4-5 RESETS
....ANY IDEAS TO SOLVE PROBLEM WITHOUT REINSTALLING XP

When you start task manager go to the run command and type in
"explorer.exe". Does that startup the desktop & the taskbar.??

And by the way, turn off your caps lock when posting.

i am NOT able to start any program except task manager ( with
ctrl+alt+del)
