The MD5 is needed to verify whether the download was correctly done.

I keep a couple of virtual machines around to check out things like SP3

There are a number of free checksum calculators available.
I'm using the one at http://www.irnis.net/soft/xcsc/.
My download of the ISO file from Microsoft with your xcsc utility
returns an MD5 of 308245853E5B231343EE17B36FFDA1E6
You reported: 308245853E5B231343EE17B36FFDA1E6

Looks the same to me.

Thanx.

MSFT really does need to post the MD5 for ALL file downloads.
Of course, I speaketh with forked tongue, as I have, as yet,
not listed MDs for files at my own web site.

Bad Howard! Bad!
