Windows XP + Sounds

Mike

Hello,
I have assigned various sounds to various program events
and they all work great except for two program events.
Start Windows + Exit Windows produces no sound even
though when I goto Control Panel - Sounds + Audio
Devices - Sounds Tab - click on Start Windows - click the
preview button - The sound is there! However when I
Start or Exit Windows there is no sound. Any ideas would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Mike

One thing to check, if you just happen to run volume at a very low level...

Turn it up. Then reboot.

If you are comfortable with editing the Registry do this:
Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to the root of HKEY_CURRENT_USER. If it
doesn't have a Data entry in the right pane that reads: (value not set), double
click (Default) and delete it. If it does, check the HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21 key
for the same condition. If you don't wish to edit the registry yourself, I
believe Kelly has a vbs script on her sight that will do it for you.

John
