I have recently installed Windows Xp Pro on my new pc and
I can't get any sound. I have tried using the
troubleshooter and nothing happens. The audio says there
is no audio device. I have gone into Device Manager and
tried reinstalling the drivers but it says it can't find
them. There was no cd that came with the pc (Compaq), I
bought XP pro and reimaged. Now what to do?

Rox, go here and download and install Belarc. It will give you an
inventory of your system. Did you
do an upgrade to WinXPPro? Anyway, look for what type Motherboard and
audio device you have.
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html You can also check at
www.pcpitstop.com
XP usually should have the sound drivers but sometime a trip to
the Manufacturers website is
necessary.
