Windows XP - Shutdown problem

The problem I have, is that when I go through the
shutdown procedure, my PC shuts down and then restarts no
matter if I selected shutdown and power off. I have to
physical hit the mains power switch to switch it of. It
only started to happen like this recently and maybe after
the updates after it received. Any idea's ?
