I just upgraded from Windows 98 to Xp. When I was running
98, my computer would automatically shut off when I told
Windows to shutdown. It no longer does this in XP. It
just sits at "It is now safe to shut off your computer".
Does anyone know how I can get it to shut off
automatically?

Thanks

That depends on your system. If you have a Dell or you
are using a surge protector or hooked up to UPS (battery
power backup), you have to manually cut off power.
