But if it was an OEM version, Microsoft won't support it and you're probably
out of luck. However it doesn't hurt to try asking the OEM you bought it
from if they can replace it.
In addition to what Mr. Blake replied to you, you can also make a copy
of a friend's disk provided it's the same type as yours. In other
words, if yours is a retail version of Home, then you need the same,
and so forth. The media itself is worthless without the product key
and since you have a legal product key and you only use that key, a
copy is OK.
