Windows XP Service Pack 2 and wireless networking

I recently installed Service pack 2 on my laptop. Ever
since the upgrade, my wireless connection shows that it
is not connected, but it is. I still have full network
connection even though my wireless card shows that it is
not connected.
Anyone have any ideas what is causing this?
 
I'm having a problem with the a non wireless, but my
friend fixed his wireless problem by making sure all
devices are using 120 bit encription.
