I prefer the old WindowsXP display, but just now it has
changed spontaneously to the technicoloured garish blue
style.

I have tried the Start Button properties radio-button
selection option but it refuses to go back!

Please help, Frank

microsoft screwed up the changing windows display configuration.

I've had that often when I do a change like the fonts or
something in the appearance dialogue; there are times winxp
even change the colors or "only" partially change the
desktop from my uncluttered classic mode.

The only "fix" is to reselect the desktop to be the windows
classic.

BTW, even the mouse cursor get changed from my setup of the
inverted mode back to the "standard" microsoft mode.

OOPs! just right click on the desktop --> select themes
& then select windows classic or possibily windows classic
(modified). The "modified" is supposed to reflect your
modifications.

Thank you. In this case a cold reboot fixed it.
